Terms of service

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Panori is a free platform for exploring news, evidence and context. These terms describe the service, your responsibilities and how we handle contributions.

About Panori and these terms

These terms apply to your use of Panori. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. Optional email consent is a separate choice.

Who can use an account

You must be at least 18 to create or use an account. Accounts are individual and free. You can explore public stories, timelines, sources and explanations without signing in.

Use an email address you control and keep your sign-in details secure. Do not share sign-in codes, impersonate someone else or use another person's account without permission. Tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

What the service provides

Panori organizes reporting, sources, claims and questions to help readers understand a story. Dates matter: a historical edition describes the information available at that point, and may not describe the current situation. Coverage is selective and may contain errors or gaps.

AI helps prepare editorial drafts. Editors review content before publishing it. Human review does not guarantee accuracy. Check the cited sources and use your own judgment, especially when making important decisions. Panori provides general information, not personal legal, medical or financial advice.

Reader reactions and forecasts are optional learning activities. They are not votes that establish facts, investment services or wagers. Community summaries describe the readers who participated, not a representative public opinion poll.

Questions, sources and feedback

Submit only material you have the right to share. Link to a source instead of pasting an entire copyrighted article. Do not send confidential information, private personal details about other people, threats or unlawful content.

You keep any ownership rights you have in your contributions. By submitting material for editorial consideration, you give Panori a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, review, edit and use it to operate Panori and develop relevant coverage. This permission includes publishing a question or excerpt when it is used in coverage and using service providers for those purposes. It does not give Panori ownership of your work or permission to sell your personal information.

This editorial permission applies to submitted questions, source suggestions and feedback. It does not authorize publication of your private answer history or saved reading activity.

Editors decide which suggestions to pursue. A submission does not guarantee a reply, publication, credit or payment. Questions and source suggestions enter a review queue. The separate feature for suggesting a new story or topic is still coming soon.

You can request removal of a contribution. Account deletion removes the contributions attached to your account as described in the Privacy policy. Published coverage may remain, including an edited question or excerpt already incorporated into an edition. The permission above continues only as needed to maintain that existing coverage and records we may lawfully retain; your applicable privacy rights still apply.

Use the platform responsibly

Do not harass people, submit knowingly false reports to disrupt the service, impersonate others, infringe rights, distribute malicious software or try to gain unauthorized access. Do not automate answers or create accounts to manipulate community results. Do not bypass access controls or overload the site.

You may disagree with coverage, challenge a claim and suggest a correction. Criticism and good-faith questions are welcome. Report a concern with the relevant story or source link and enough detail for us to investigate.

Content and external sources

Panori's original text, design and software are protected where intellectual property law applies. Third-party articles, photographs, quotations, trademarks and other source material remain subject to their owners' rights. A source link or attribution is not a licence to republish the source.

You may link to Panori and use material as permitted by applicable law, including any available fair-dealing or fair-use rights. These terms do not create a blanket licence to reproduce third-party content. Contact us about permission for other uses of Panori's own material.

External sites are operated by others. We do not control their availability, accuracy, security or terms. Following a link takes you to that site's service.

Moderation, suspension and leaving

We may decline or remove a submission, or restrict an account, when needed to address misuse, protect people, comply with law or keep the service working. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide a way to ask for review. Urgent action may come first when security or safety is at risk.

You may stop using Panori at any time. Account settings provide export and deletion tools. The Privacy policy explains what deletion removes and what records may remain.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep Panori useful and available, but features may change and access may be interrupted. We do not promise uninterrupted service, complete coverage or error-free information. Export saved activity you need to keep independently.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Panori does not provide warranties beyond those expressly stated in these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, remedies or responsibilities that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Changes and disputes

We will date changes to the terms and give reasonable notice of significant changes before they take effect, except where an urgent legal or security reason requires earlier action. We will seek renewed acceptance where required. Changes will not be treated as retroactive consent to a new use of your personal information.

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim, including a class action where available under applicable law.
